This is Lennox, born at 24 weeks–birth weight 2lb1oz. Due to being a preme, Lennox spent a majority of the first year of his life in the hospital. His parents were told numerous times–he would not make it. (FAST FORWARD) Lennox is now 17months old and is home. His mom (who is a nurse) is now unable to work as Lennox requires much personal care, she is required to cathederize her son daily and do rectal stretching daily to ensure his bowels continue working, he is on 9 different meds and at his last appt. w/the nephrologist, was told his kidneys were beginning to only function at 40%…and that he may need a kidney transplant soon. He doesn’t crawl, let anyone touch him other than his mom. When she puts him down, he lays on his back and pushes off his right side so much that all of the hair on his left side has worn off d/t rubbing on the floor. Five weeks ago, Lennox’s lungs both collapsed and he was taken to Iowa City He has been seeing a PT since birth and local Area 7 people come to their house to check on him and do exercises.

(FAST FORWARD) 4 weeks ago, my wife who is facebook friends w/Abby sent her a message saying ‘Abby, I don’t know your feelings on Chiropractic, but all healing comes from within and that if his nerve system isn’t working right……he may not be healing right. Dusty sees a lot of kids and would like to see Lennox and see if there is something he can do.’ Abby sent a message back saying ‘we don’t know what else to do and will try anything at this point.’ I called and talked w/her and explained chiropractic and what we should do. (to say I was scared was an understatement, she was bringing him in to me–as a last resort—*no pressure;)*—I reached out to some of my Chiro. brothas and sistas—Monika Buerger and Michael Thompson to get their input on preme’s etc….and it all came down to one thing ….adjust the spine.

Lennox and Abby came in on 8/27/10 the following day (I was a sweating machine and very nervous—I had seen hundreds of kids before w/no probs., but this one was different….I was his last resort) , Lennox screamed a sceam like I had never heard. He wouldn’t lay on his stomach, and when we tried, he would scream and was unable to lift his head also wouldn’t allow a sub-scan as he also has hypersentivity issues (technology is good, but you must also trust your hands). Knowing his next neurology/nephrology/gastrology etc. appts. were on 9/27/10 I told Abby ‘I will check him every day until his appt. in Iowa City for his Medical check-ups, then we will go from there.’ They came in every day. After the first week, Abby noted ” I don’t know if this is a coincidence or not, but Lennox is starting to have more energy and starting to smile more often….he’s also kissing more.” She also told me she wanted to discuss something w/me. She opened her bag and brought out his catheder and rectal stretching device that looked like a 7 inch galvanized steel pencil that she had to insert 3/4 of the way up his rectum…..she began to tear up as she said ‘If anything happens to me I want to make sure you know how to do this so that Lennox can keep getting better.” I stopped her and said, “I don’t know how to do any of that stuff….you take care of you so that nothing happens to you and I’ll work w/Lennox’s body so he can get better–deal?”–I then explained Chirpractic in more detail. As she left, I walked directly into my office and cried…..my CA came in asking if everything was OK? I said, ‘No one should have to go through that with their child—-catederizing, rectal stretching, feeding tube, not being able to be away from her son for more than 30min. for 17min. Why did God bring this little man into my life.’ *here is why…………

WEEK 2….Abby came in and said that Lennox’s PT people want to know what she was doing different as Lennox was beginning to do more things than he ever has.

WEEK 3….Abby shoots me and email asking if it would be alright if Lennox’s Area 7 people can come and watch what we are doing, as they have never seen a child that was in Lennox’s condition grow and be able to do what he is doing so quickly….;)

WEEK 4….Abby has now sheduled her daughter McKenna in who HAD been dealing w/bed wetting but since her first adjustment has wet the bed only once.:) Abby is in the process of scheduling herself and her hubby for an exam and wanting to pre-pay for the year…..before I have done an exam or gone over results

Day of LENNOX’S Nephro, Medi, GastroAPPT: The day of his Iowa City check-up…My CA and I were anxious to see the little man and hear results. We knew they were scheduled for the afternoon, but also knew that Abby always posted updates on facebook of how his check-ups went. The day went on…no facebook posts, we were getting worried–something bad? An hour before her appt. Abby called and talked to Lizzy (my CA)……Lizzy hung up the phone and just smiled—”you’re going to like the news”……When Abby, her mom and Lennox showed up they were almost in tears……’the doctors have never seen that much of a change….they expected to see scaring on his kidneys…there was none…they were working perfectly. Every single test they did–he scored out on and that he no longer needed to be cathederized.’ Abby said that when the Doctor asked what’s going on—she said ‘The only thing that we have changed is that we are taking him to chiroprator.’ :):):):):)

Later that night I went home and was checking my facebook and saw that Abby had posted something about Lennox’s results. ‘normal size kidneys, no scaring etc’ 5 people followed w/posts of ‘GREAT news’ etc., then Abby followed with ‘…..also when Dr. Myer was surprised by the results, I said the only thing that has turned Lennox around…..the only that that is new in our lives…is Dusty Behn at Inspired Living….That I truly believe has changed Lennox’s life and turned it around.” a few more people posted some ‘awesome! Great news etc.’ Then someone else posted a ‘Our son has been on acid reflux pills since he was 2 and has migranes twice a week!! Since going to Dr. Behn he’s stopped his meds and not had one migraine’ (I didn’t even know that;)

I tell this story….first, because I’m freaking STOKED!! but secondly….NEVER doubt the power of your two hands and the impact they can have on someone—IF the intent is present. What Lennox taught me and/or reminded me of is that with EVERY adjustment there is a miracle occuring, some may be highlighted more as in Lennox’s case, but EVERY time we lay our hands on someone or have an interaction w/someone…..miracles ARE happening……..TRUST THAT, AND ALWAYS BELIEVE THAT things happen for a reason. Lennox Update:Week 6: Lennox is now able to sit for extended periods of time (has never been able to do that), he is now able to be on all fours while holding his own head up…..his mom said this past weekend that he is starting to *scoot* on all fours, however when he wants to get somewhere fast he still lays on his back and pushes off with one leg and *cruises* on his back…(but he is FINALLY starting to cross crawl!!!;)Special Note: Area 7 has scheduled an appt. with me to observe Lennox being adjusted next Wed. to find out what we are doing to get the changes he has gotten so quickly. (cant wait to see their face when I use my pinky to his atlas, integrator to sacrum and done….less than 30sec.—-and hear them say….*thats it?*) —POWER ON!! How long does it take to flick a light switch on?;)—who else do you know?Other Special Note: Abby (Lennoxs mom) is now getting adjusted…..to find out in her consult that she has been taking 2….let me repeat 2 Ambien every night since Lennox has been born (now 18months) to sleep d/t her worries w/Lennox. Since getting adjusted (3times) she is sleeping more sound w/out the meds;)Note: Abbys sister–Annette prepaid to begin her daughter under care as she has *focus problems* in school;)Abbys other sister scheduled an appt for tomorrow to see *what all the buzz is about*
